ほんとうにたくさんの場所でたくさんの方々に出会えて幸せな１ヶ月でした。
そしてなにより、若い世代の方から「エシカルに興味があります！」「エシカルブランドってどうやったら立ち上げられますか」「エシカルに貢献するにはなにをしたらいいですか？」という声をいただいて、時代は変わりつつあるな、と感じました。それも、その言葉が、すべて女性からだったことがおどろきです。笑
若い世代、とくに学生さんには、お金に余裕がない方が多いと思います。
自分もそうでした。大学時代、アルバイト代の中で服も買いたいしコスメも買いたい。フェアトレード？エシカル？いいけど、通常のものより高いじゃない。買えないなあ。そう思っていましたし、実際買えずじまいでした。
阪急電鉄を創設した「小林一三」というひとがいました。
阪急梅田百貨店をつくったとき、最上階に当時ではモダンで高級な食堂を作りました。ライスカレーとか、ハンバーグとか、あったのでしょう。あるとき、貧しい若者が食堂に駆けつけて、お金がないので、ライスだけ注文したそうです。それを見た食堂のスタッフはお断りしようとしたのですが小林一三さんは「ああいう若者が、いつか自分で一生懸命はたらいて、お金を貯めて、きっと戻ってきてくれるから、大切にしなさい」といったそうです。
たまに「エシカルは高いから買えない」という話を若い方からききます。自分も「買いたいけど、ちょっとキツイ」。そんなときがあります。買えないなら買えない、それでもぜんぜんいい、と思っています。（売れなくていいわけではなく、そこはまた考えなくてはならない別問題）
いつか経済的に余裕ができたとき、もしくは特別な日に、思い出してくれたらいいのだと思います。「買いたいのに買えない」その思いは「買えるから買える」より断然つよいとおもうのです。ビジネス的に言うなれば、これこそがサステイナブルな戦略です。
最近、３人の学生さんが販売に来てくれてそのうちの１人が誕生日だから、VEGANIEのポーチをどうしてもプレゼントしたい、といってくれました。最高の1日をプレゼントしてくれたのは、彼女たちでした。

May is flying away soon,I would like to say Thank you again to all of you for visiting VEGANIE at Ethical fashion college, Isetan Shinjyuku, Hikarie, Yokohama SOGO so on.
I met hundreds of people in this month, I was really glad to hear that many young people/students asked me “ How can I start ethical business?” “How can I contribute myself to make this society better.” – surprisingly, all of them were women. Some of young people asked me, “ I can’t afford to buy ethical things. Because they are too expensive. What can I do? ”. I can say that, even I was thinking in same way when I was university student. ”I know that ethical is good but I can’t reduce my budget for food instead of buying ethical life style. No way!”.
There used to be a founder of Hankyu Railway, his name was Ichizo Kobayashi. He produced a very modern and high-end restaurant of his day on the highest floor of Hankyu department store.
One day, a young man visited this restaurant and ordered only “White rice” as he didn’t have enough money for main dishes. Staff of restaurant just tried to get him out of restaurant but Ichizo Kobayashi advised the staff, “One day, when he earned the money after working hard, he might come back here again. Please welcome him as same as usual guests.”
This story is just a example but I feel in same way. I really think that is not a big deal if you can not afford to buy ethical things now, at least you have the awareness and consiuosness to want to choose ethically made produce. Once you earn by yourself in the future or if any chance on someone’s special day, just remember to choose ethical things as your choice. I want to believe that “ I wanna buy but I can’t.“ is much stronger conscious than “I will buy because I can buy.”.
Recently, 3 students came to our sales and said to me that they wanted to pool resources and buy a present for one girl as it was her birthday.They gave me the biggest present by their consideration and special action.
